- Report your injury or your suspicion of your occupational disease to your employer or your supervisor immediately. Ask to fill out an injury report form. If you cannot due to the injury, have someone else notify your employer for you.
- Seek medical treatment immediately. If your employer has their own doctors, you will have to see them for the first 90 days after your injury. If your employer does not have a list of doctors, you may go to your own physician. Your physician will have to provide your employer with peroiodic reports of your progress.
- Act immediately. The law limits the time you have to give notice to your employer of your injury.
- Be cautious before signing any papers or statements. Read everything carefully & make sure you understand it completely. You may want to have a qualified attorney review your paperwork before signing or agreeing to anything.
